On our special 20th episode of the podcast, Producer Dave Szamet drops in to talk about the art of producing, the challenges of shooting a western in Texas in August, shooting on 35mm film, what the market looks like to a producer like himself and the nuts and bolts of what a producer does in the production of a film, among other things. Overall it was an eye opening talk that reveals what a producers job entails and what the market place looks like today. Two recent films that Dave had served as producer on are discussed, both of which are available on demand on iTunes and Amazon. The first film discussed in terms of the production was “Echoes Of War” (2015) and the second was “The Pretty One” (2013). Both films are highly recommended for the enrichment of the listening to of the conversation, and just as good movies to watch and be entertained by.
